Haemoglobin count test for babies

    Hi All,

    My 8 month old LO's haemoglobin count is 10.2.Can you please suggest what needs to be done to increase her haemoglobin count.

    Give her dates. I boil dates and use the water as sweetener for LO's other foods. If the dates are soft I also give it directly. I use middle east dates.

    I have been giving dates since my LO was 7 months old. She cleared the Haemoglobin test taken in her 8th month.

    Why was the Hb count checked? It was never checked for my DS except at birth.

    @chotabheem it was checked for my LO too when she was 8 months old.

    @chotabheem I think the test can be done anytime. For some of my friends kids it was done when they were 1 year of age. Do talk to your paed on your next visit.

    Like Ramya said, dates are the best to increase the count; my nephews count increased after taking those.

    @asr4 I have been giving dates regularly i.e at least 4-5 times in a week for my LO since she was7.5 months old. My paed said it is ok to give them regularly.
