green gram chapathis

    have you all ever tried,green gram or soya chapathis? roll one cup of green grams in wet cloth and leave it one day,you can see the next day green grams little bit bulged in shape..wipe them in dry cloth..leave it for sometime..and powder it and keep it in fridge..whenever you do chapathis,mix this around two tablespoons to chapthi flour and make chapathis...very very good for health..soya chapathis made with the same technique using soya flour readily available in shops..

    Green chapati sounds v interesting.I shall try it for sure and let u know how it turned out.:goodidea:
    But abt soya,i have heard a lot of contradicting comments so dont know to use or not.I have a packet of soya flour but I am not really using it.:confused2:
    Even in IL i had read in a few threads to ask the gynec and then use soya.

    Dear Rya,

    I make green gram cheele often and its pretty good. I just buy the frozen green gram you get in the stores, boil it and then puree it in the blender. Add besan (gram flour), grated onion, cilantro, cumin seeds, green chilies and salt to it. Then pour a ladle full of batter on a saucepan and spread it like a think dosa...

    Sometimes I add grated carrots or boiled peas to this mixture...tastes good and is very healthy.:)

    Would love to see more such recipes from you (and others)!

    hi all,
    thanks for your replies..suji,i hope soya is very good for health and tried that too..but i have not read the post regarding contradictory comments on soya.i tried green gram chappathi it came out very well..i just want to tell you friends that you can keep green gram powder for maximum two weeks..within that period,try to use it..

    Yeah its good for health as well as we can use green leaves with that gram and make chapathis i used to make it ,,,,, it really very delicious and good for health,,,,
