Greedy Chimney Plates

    Hi ilites,
    Can anyone help how to clean greesy chimney plates which were very much greasy n sticky.
    Please help

    You can remove the plates- there are usually two small pins on the side. If you press them in, the plates will slide out easily. Boil water in a big size pot if you have one, put in the baking soda inside it, immerse the plates in that pot completely. Let it sit for couple of minutes and then pour white vinegar over the plates. The reaction between baking soda n vinegar will help lift the grease from the plates. Let it soak in that water for an hour or so and then use metal brush to clean residue of grease off of the plates. You can do this every couple of months so the gunk wont accumulate on the plates and it gets easier to clean the plate after the initial deep clean. Hope it helps!
