Hai, nice info. Now Chennai is teeming with boutiques and special shops, only one should have a heavy purse and the stamina to shop. I think Ushus in Nungambakkam has unique sarees and blouses. Also Kumaran silks had launched a matching saree and shirt set for the couple. Try that. There are lots and lots of saree shops in town. Difficult to choose from. Will get back about a shop called Champa which specialises in material made from vazhai naar and some other material. They say that it is cool.
Hai yesterday, while I was at Anna Nagar I saw a shop called MAN (meaning the mind). It is on the side road adjuscent to the Saravana Bhavan Hotel at Anna Nagar, just the 10th shop or so. It is an exclusive shop for salwars. Try.
hi brinda, Nisha tailor is in the same complex next to kalanjiyam store. even nisha talior has salwar materials u can choose materials there too.
Hi Padma, Thanks for the information. I want to know where i can get some salwar material with simple work done on it for office wear
Could anyone tell me what is the latest trend in salwar in Chennai? I am looking for something decent and elegant.
hi brinda, u can try in both kalanjiyam cut piece and nisha tailors they have a lot of variety of synthetic and cotton salwar materials. When i was working in chennai i always buy in kalanjiyam for office wear.
Hai, A shop named SAHELI , it is in Egmore, Cisons Complex, First Floor........this building is next to Alsa Mall......... They have a decent variety of salwar materials and they also do the sitching work and on request they will even courier u the stiched dresses to ur address... They do this facility also...........so do try..........
Hi Honeytha, Do u have the contact number of that shop in Egmore. Moreover how much they charge for salwar and what about the fittings?
Hai Sangeethraj, The contact number of Saheli is 044 28554130............The range of material actually starts from 400 i think so...........they do even 250 range of cotton materials also (but u need to ask for them, then only they will show those cheap materials) The stiching charges for the salwar which u buy from that shop itself is Rs.150 and for other shops material they charge Rs. 160..........and the fittings are good I usually go for normal fitting and that itself is good...........they do nice neck patterns...........
