    Dear Aruna,

I agree with u , that whatever the value of money even today everything old is valuable , including the sayings.Every drop makes a part of the Sea, and our elders gave us much more than we can ever give our kids for sure.

    Dear Kamalji,

Your blog reminds me of my parents. Yes, today's generation thinks of itself. Our parents had our interests in mind.

They sacrificed their all so that we had a decent life, good education & had a good moral upbringing.

Their mantra was, " if we cannot afford it, forget it". Unlike today's parents who will even take a loan to pander to the likes & dislikes of their kids.

"A true friend is there even in bad times," they said. How true! Now a days people go out of their way to please others. Not my parent's generation.

My Dad says, India now a lot of Old age homes springing up. It was unheard of in their times. I speak of granny flats for Hubby & myself. MY parents know for sure my brother will take care of them.

It is now fashionable to have a "financial advisor". My financial advisor has always been my Mom. Her smart ways to save money can put any accountant to shame.

Times are changing Kamalji. For better? At what cost? Old values are crumbling to make way for a selfish tomorrow.

    Regards,

    Corallux

    Dear Coral,

Yes old values are crumbling like 9 pins.Today it is I Me Myself, in which the parents are excluded.

But what to do, that is the ways of the world. That uis why I believe parents must keep enough for their old age.

    Regards.kamal

    Dear Kamalji

Nice write up. Yes our parents struggled a lot and they were in
joint family but they were happy. They saw to it that their
children are happy and with the money they had they gave good
education to their children. With all the comforts we have, many
are there who are not happy. It is not how much we have but
how much we enjoy that makes happiness. In present world
people dont know the value of money. Our parents though they
did not earn much they saved for the future.

My husband also is very economic and does not spend unnecessarily.
He is very simple. As he was economic and saved for the future
we are having a happy retired life. In young age we can struggle
but when we become old we wont have strength to struggle.

    with blessings

    viji

    Dear Viji,

Your last line said it well.In old age we wont have the strength to struggle. And I have seen many people even today at 70, who at 50 had the world under their feet, and today don’t have a morsel .

Most people wont understand, but then each to their own. Thanks and Regards.kamal
