I delivered my 2nd child..and managing all alone in US going through hell..crying everyday---even during this time they keep calling me everyday and expect me to talk for an hour and they keep asking what did I cook....and MIL keeps sending me recipes as if I dont have enough to do already..they keep boasting about their terrace gardening and how they get to eat fresh veggies...and keep sending pictures of cooked food and insists me to cook like that(I do cook simple meals )but she keeps telling how they eat healthy fryums and dont buy it from store..blah blah blah.......while i am juggling between newborn and toddler.....i dont know if its the postpartum --it really pisses me off.....and I am taking it to heart....!!How do I stop taking to heart!

Tell them you are doing a no electronics/ social media cleansing for a few weeks and do that setting on whatsapp and messages where it wont show you read or seen the message. Also, if you happen to see the messages, delete it asap, that way you wont have to see it more than once. Out of sight out of mind. May try to stay away from social media for real for some days. It is a difficult time with small kids especially after delivery. Hang in there

OP - congrats on having new born. Hope you both are doing well.
You can tell her when you reach her age maybe then you will get time to try her recipes as right now your hands are full.

Hey congratulations on your new baby!
You are tired and overwhelmed but please take her input positively. She is worried about you and anxious how you managing and giving all this advice. Even she knows it’s not practical but not able to restrain I think it’s much better than situation where in-laws don’t even care to ask for months. Whenever she gives suggestion hear her then immediately say hmm yeah but it’s very difficult right now, very hard right now blah blah, if you like some particular one ask if there’s easier way do that or if she can make that and send it.
Be positive even this time will pass!

Your hubby should be wfh?Can you ask him to talk to In-laws and tell them that you are very busy and with crying kids and work can not afford to talk for long time..something like that.Else, just nod and say yes yes to everything and in 10 minutes hand over the phone to Hubby.I am sure it is physically draining for you at this time and hope your hubby helps you.Take care dear
