Its been a while since I came onto these boards because I have been busy with parents-hubby-job-parents-hubby-job, etc, etc. Plus the negative stories from the Married Forums was getting under my skin, making me feel sad, and helpless that I couldn't help these ladies, so I decided to stay away.

But I came back because I had a health-related question, for which I will post a separate thread. But once again, I came across a depressing post that says something along the lines of daughter-in-law is not daughter of family, but she is a daughter surrounded by law, i.e. MIL, FIL, SIL.

Ok, so what is the point of this blog? I just want to tell you ladies, next time you are faced with rude, unpleasant people, tell yourself something

    "God is bigger than this"

Yes, that is right. Your MIL may rule the house with an iron fist, but God is bigger than your MIL, and God loves you. So please, tell yourself something along the lines of, "God is bigger than MIL, God loves me, God is my Heavenly Father, my Heavenly Husband who will make sure in the end, everything will be ok."

I have been watching Joel Osteen sermons, and even though he is Christian, all religions are welcome to watch his sermons, and even attend them. I think he also goes to India sometime.

But let me tell you few situations where this worked out, when I reminded myself that God is bigger than my problems and I should not be afraid.

Few days ago I had to take a certification exam. I called few days before to confirm whether I was registered. The lady on the phone said that I should call the registration company, not the test taking place, but I can call day of test to check.

So I call day of test, and mention the lady's name that she told me to call and find if I am registered to take the test, but no one is able to help me.

I personally come on day of test to take test. When I introduced myself, the lady I spoke with few days prior was very rude, and said "I told you few days ago we are only a test center, but you called today and threw my name around."

A person is nervous to take a test and is getting rude customer service? These type of people never succeed. However, I was at her mercy because she had all my information, so I told myself, "God is bigger than this, I shall get through this, I shall pass my exam."

Sure enough, the same rude lady started to act very nice to me all of a sudden, as if we had been friends for years. And lo and behold, I passed my certification exam :thumbsup

I was debating a certain matrimonial alliance when we were searching. There was someone I was interested in but somehow, I was getting bad vibes from him, yet for some reason, I was getting this strange pull that I should correspond with this person. Hec, I would even start crying when this person would email us, yet I still wanted to pursue matrimonial correspondence with him.

Then I started to tell myself, "God is bigger than this. God is bigger than this. Look up in the sky. God made all of us, we are just tiny people in this tiny planet called Earth which is a tiny speck in the big Universe that God created."

Do you wanna know what happened? I married someone else. Someone whose emails always bought a smile and laughter to my heart. Someone who gave me good vibes.

And do you know what is great about Sanjog. My then soon-to-be-husband was the first to greet me at the airport when my airplane landed, then my father came 30 minutes later!!!!!!

I have always limited myself based on what other people thought about me, or said about me, and especially, what my father thinks of me. Ever since hearing Joel Osteen say, "Ask God for God-sized things. Ask him for things that no other Human being can do for you" I am starting to look at things differently.

    Slowly but surely.

I used to overanalyze things, and get upset (you can see some of my recent posts in Married Forum :bonk), but ever since I started to ask God to fix a situation, God to resurrect a situation, things have been easier to deal with.

For instance, I used to be very scared that if I upset my Hubby, he would leave me. And my father thinks that because the low-class bottom feeders never wanted to marry me, then why would a refined, sweet man from India would want to marry me.

But instead of getting upset, I now listen to my heart, which is how God communicates with all of us, his children.

My heart says that my Hubby is true, and genuine. I have only good vibes about him (sure, we may have our differences in opinion about things, but nothing Earth-shattering).

I'm not sure if I went off on a tangent. It's just that I get so upset reading about how DILs are being mistreated in their own homes. Then when we hear about rape cases in India, there is very little outrage unless it happened in a big city such as Delhi, and then as soon as the victim dies, everyone forgets about it, and continues treating women like dirt.

I just want to tell these women, or anyone else to remember God. Some energy created us, and put us on this Earth. God knew us before we were born. He has a plan for each and everyone of us. We all have a destiny to fulfil. God loves us and wants to protect us from harm. We must have faith in his greatness, and understand that God can make miracles and God can move mountains.

Sure, you may be married to a rotten male and have to deal with the equally rotten in-laws but please remember God is bigger than all and tell yourself that God will get you out of this mess.

It may look impossible according to Humans, but we are only Humans, but God works in mysterious ways, you must ask him, and have strong faith in him. And soon enough, you will see things turn out in your favor.

While I enjoyed reading your blog and getting the message across, I also wonder how on earth one would think in a higher plane when being pulled down from all directions Zipzipzoomzoom. But, yes faith works wonders, if only you don't question it much. -rgs

That is the challenge. We are in this material world, and we see things that make us forget there is a higher power. That is why they say, "Walk by Faith, Not by Sight" .... this is especially hard when one feels worn down and run over, and we all have days like that.

But yes, if you stick to it, Faith does wonders.....
