Self-Confidence​

Luck doesn't last for eternity. Timely correct advice doesn't come easily. But Help always seem to be st close proximity. And
Self-Confidence eventually always wins.

Have one sharp look at the lives of people attained zenith of success and it would be observed the common denominator among them is their self-confidence.

A self-confident person can only succeed in anything. They can even perform Himalayan feats.

Today morning I was looking at a daily newspaper and after turning few pages a news item was published in such a spot that it will easily catch the eye-balls.

The news is that a young man who acconplished well in studies and was looking for a job with decent salary committed suicide. I looked at his photo; he was very handsome. It is not known why this person who studied a lot and had a good time took his life. The reason for that is not in the newspaper.

When I read the news and flipped a few more pages, on another page there was a news item that a farmer had achieved a record in agricultural production and that he would be given a cash prize and a certificate from the government. In that news, it was said that he had produced more than the government index in a particular variety of rice. It was also stated that this agriculturist was literate and speak only his mother tongue Tamil.

When I read these two news one after another, I turned contemplative.

Despite professionally qualified higher education, handsome youth, a huge possibility of decent job, a lot of income and being able to set up the life he wanted, he did not want to live. If that is the case, then he has not learnt what he needs to learn in life. That is self-confidence.

A confident mind is a mindset that dares to face upfront whatever complex problem comes in life. Because he did not possess that, some problem has arisen and he lost his peace.


At the same time, the farmer, who is not very educated, has come to know about the government's agricultural announcement regarding sowing quality seeds and the timing etc. So he has tried new method and succeeded in huge harvest. . It can be said with certainty that the reason for his success was that is his self-confidence.

The accomplished farmer said, "Many people teased and mocked me when I embarked on this venture. It would result in infructuous labour, and this soil one cant get even half of that yield the government expert which the expert claims.

But I was confident that agricultural officers not only explained the newer ways and means to get higher yield but quoted some examples how in identical soil in their lab they achieved higher harvest in record time. I ignored my fellow farmers smirk and pessimism and only followed the methods govt experts told me. Their emphatic statements enhanced my self- confidence.

I could produce higher yield. The officials were not at all surprised but they commended my efforts, my confidence in their methods and appreciated it.The only hope I had in this endeavor was self-confidence."

So what can be inferred from this.

A person who commits suicide though highly educated but lacks confidence makes a rash decision. A less educated person succeeds because he acts with confidence.

So one of the virtues to success in life is believing in self and self-confidence, ( உன்னால் முடியும் தம்பி/சகோதரி)
it is certain that if one act with confidence he/she can attain the set goals.
