getting admission in cbse schools in south chennai

One of the good ICSE schools in Chennai is Good Earth School, in Tambaram, near Kishkintha.

Iam a new member here. Iam in Muscat and my son is in 5th std studying in ISM here. We planned to move Chennai this year for his 6th std admission. It will be very useful for me if you share some information to me. Iam trying in Lalaji Omega International, Kolappakam and Chinmaya Vidhyalaya. But i dont know more abt these schools. In which school your kids are studying and which CBSE school is best? Thanks in advance

admission procedure for next academic year.
Do they have donations etc here.
what would be approx fees or how much would we have to spend for an year.

Arsha vidyA mandir works well for nri kids. But you have to follow and arrange for coaching too as is the case everywhere. Another reco would be chettinad vidyashram.

depending on the group and score you can also try Hindu senior secondary adyar.

Fees would depend on school. Arsha vidyA mandir based on entrance test. No donations. Fees could come to 50k+ no idea if there is increase.


In few schools donations are there. Again depends on the group you want. Applications will be issued from January in some while others give application immediately after exams.

 

Disclaimer. Both my kids don't study in the school referred in this thread. They moved away after the 10th.

which group your kid is going to take. are you planning iit coaching. replies differ accordingly. is your child adjusting, can he accept the pressure put by some of the schools at 11 and 12th. there are classes on saturday and sometimes on sunday too.

there is chellammal, modern, dav adambakkam(state board), dav velachery, arsha vidya mandir.

before that are you aware that it would be cheaper paying as a nri from dasa quota for engineering rather than coming to india and appearing for the exams. very very few colleges allow you to compete in general. you will be nri only.

if it is arts college, you can come after the 12th too, try your luck.
i returned back in 2007 for family issues. and i have seen kids no able to adapt here too.

my son wants maths,phy, chem and comp scence for class 11th.

he is been studying in middle east CBSE school since class 8th.

iam in dilema whether to bring him to Chennai for further studies or continue there itself. as the service in middeast is so unsecure..

either i will be in vellachery or in Gopalapuram have been hopping to the schools in those areas for the past few days...
