Friends, With the power playing truant, I am not able to come here regularly!! 2 days back, BF was sandwich toast with a new tomato chutney & cheese, sorgum (vellai cholam) flakes, now available here Pumpkin juice since the veg was very fresh. For the chutney, roast in 1 tsp oil urad dhal - 1 tsp Gram dhal - 2 tsp Chopped tomatoes - 1/2 cup Red chilli powder - 1 tsp or more. When well sauted, grind this with 1/2 cup coconut & temper. A friend says this is the hotel red chutney.Chilli powder instead of chillies gives a nice colour. Lunch was instant bisibela with raitha. For inst BB, roast in few drops of oil Red chillies - 2 Pepper - 1/4 tsp Urad & gram dhals - 1/4 tsp each Dhaniya - 1 tsp Cinnamon - 1/2 " Maratti moggu - 1 Copra 2 tbsp Dhal - 1/4 cup & Rice 3/8 cup Usual method of one whistle cooking with some frozen mixed vegs. Since lunch was heavy, I just made curd lapsi with cucumber for dinner!!
Friends, 2 days back, menu: Breakfast: MW Lapsi-oats porridge with bananas + mandatory papaya + cucumber.I added 3 each of almonds + walnuts. Since this was a filling BF, I did'nt make anything else. Lunch was Sweet vathakuzhambu with sweet potatoes Cabbage kootu On days of vathakuzambu & morkuzambu, my vegetable definitely has dhal. Dinner was rava pongal, which goes well with vathakuzhambu! I made apple custard because some friends were dropping in. Just a layer of apples Sprinkle brown sugar + cinnamon powder Thick vanilla custard without sugar Again Sprinkle brown sugar + cinnamon powder Bake at 180 C for 30 mtes.
Friends, 2 days back, the menu was: Breakast - Ragi Vella Dosai Masala mor Mandatory fruits are not shown in the photo :rotfl Lunch was Potato-tomato sambar Cabbage curry. Dinner was\ Khichdi Dhal Dosai the second one with stuffing. Since 3 wholewheat bread slices were left, I made MW bread halwa for a "sweet-craving"!!!
Breakfast: Aval usili Ragi porridge ( I love it with low cal millk & brown augar) Banana, for a change from papaya Lunch: Lapsi (instead of rice) + Ridge gourd masiyal Seppankizangu roast Since lunch was lapsi, I indulged in idlis for dinner!! Sambar was "carried over"!! I am posting the photo of MW brownie, I baked for a friend!!
Breakfast: PuliPongal I tried it with varagu - our locally available quinoa!! It turned out perfect!! It went very well with lassi!! Lunch was keerai mulagootal & getti aviyal. The latter is a Trivandrum style avial - as a side dish & not kuzhambu. The vegs are pressurised for 1 whistle with minimum tamarind water & coconut paste added. No curd at all. This is a great combo with keerai mulagootal in our house. Since I baked fresh bread, dinner was Bread with Vegetable Cream with a slice of cheese + curds.
Breakfast: Some left over idlis in the fridge had to be :finished" off!! What better way than to convert them to Seeraalam Lunch was cooked quinoa (or varagu) with brinjal gravy curry http://www.indusladies.com/forums/9952-post77.html Pumpkin kootu Dinner was Ragi dosai I made it with ragi-urad combo!! Some malai was left over & I made MW malai chocolate to give a friend!! Surprising that 99% fat freemilk also has top layers. I collected & used. But the flavour was good, unlike AAvin!!
Friends, Breakfast was Bread Rolls.I smeared a mixture if softened paneer + grate cheese + hung curds + mustard powder + pepper, salt on trimmed bread & rolled with baby corn & pineapple pieces. It was delicious. Lunch was rotis-green dhal-sliced kovakkai roast Dinner was varagu (quinoa) kichdi. I tried some thinai urundai. Thinai is fox millet!!
