    thank you drsurabhi..

ritu thanks for sharing your pregnanacy GD diet ...
I need to check with doc on those juices..here i doubt we can get like that..we need to prepare at home...
when i was on 14th week i got spotting and found out placenta is laying low..so doc asked to be on rest and just minimal activities in home.. I followed it..
due to that no activity and lot of eating white rice caused my BS to go very high..normally i am active person and like to exercise..
not an issue...pregnanacy is not in our hands ...gift of nature..so go with how nature says :)

    Hi renu

baby's sugar level will be low only for few hours after birth .as soon as he/she gets to eat food they will have normal sugar levels .My DS was having low sugar levels on the day he was born so Dr suggested to supplement with formula i refused as I had colostrum coming on the same day so after nursing I use to pump and give him colostrum and then he sugar levels immediately jumped the next day so don't worry

Regarding brown rice yes it use to spike for me as well and same with Raagi.everybody's body use to respond differentky .Infact for me roti use to spike my sugar levels too .but whit ric e( sona massor rice ) use to keep my sugar levels low even I over eat .so try different kind of foods and see which one suits you .If you are non veg eater then try to include lean meats or eggs in yoru diet .if you are vegetarian then try to include paneer ,tofu with meals .

first 2 weeks don't worry if you have highs it takes 2 weeks to find out and adjust your diet .

as soon as you near 36 weeks you sugar levels will fluctuate as well don't worry its completely normal and take care .

    hi kansun

    congratulations

Managing GD is not very difficult .Watch your carbohydrate contents and start going for 15 min brisk walks after every meal .It helps break down the sugar .

Measure your sugar after every meal and try to include lot of protein in every meal .Avoid fruit juices and processed foods

    Don't worry kansun

my friend had GD from 6 th week and she couldnot manage with diet and exercise as she had terrible morning sickness and so she was on insulin from week 7 and she delivered a healthy full term baby .

I had GD for both my preganancies and my second one I took insulin from 30 weeks to 36 weeks and i deliverd a healthy baby boy via normal delivery

Don't worry GD is a condition not a disease or dis order .Its better that you know it now than later so you will start eating healthy and set a good example for your LO

    Congrats kansun on your pregnancy..

i agree to what Lochu says...even I had GD diagnosed at 28th week and I was on tabs and delivered healthy baby on 37th week.
Just have lot of protein and less of carbs . Eat lot of veggies, fruits, nuts. This helps to get rid of hunger and they are healthy too. Once in a while you can taste food which you will like to have at this stage
    But don't control your hunger.

Just to caution you around 36 weeks your sugar levels will fluctuate more so don't worry keep doing the same thing
