Anti-Splatter This is a big net with a handle. When some gravies are boiling, very often there is a lot of splattering around, as it starts thickening. This is ideal to cover the vessel with the dish, to prevent splatter, while cooking.
Lemon Squeezer This is best bought in steel and not in plastic, wood or aluminium. It extracts the juice fully, without any mess. The extracted peel can be boiled with water in the pressure cooker to give the inside a shiny look.
Shredder-1 This is one of my most useful "buy"s from Daiso, the 2$ Japanese shop in S'pore. It shreds onions, carrots, cabbage, cucumber, radish, beetroots etc.
Steamer Plate I bought this in Mustafa's.This need not be supported by a vessel kept upturned down, but has "legs". Please buy a size that will for inside your pressure cooker or pressure pan. It can be used for steaming kozukatais, dhokla etc. Here I have shown its use in steaming flour tied loosely in a cloth.
Apple-Corer Though an age-old gadget, it is very useful. You just position the gadget on top of the apple and press it down and the fruit gets neatly sliced with the tough seedy central portion coming out as waste! It is preferable to buy one with firm plastic handles on both sides for convenient use.
Scrapers Plastic scrapers form an integral part of kitchen gadgets. I use them to transfer the contents, completely, without any residue left behind. Buy sturdy ones; they may crack or break when you scrape a sticky food item. They are very useful when we make sweets in a kadai.

Garlic Crusher There are garlic crushers in many prize ranges. Mine is a simple one. In Tamil Nadu cooking, it is said that crushed garlic gives a better flavour than chopped garlic. The garlic is peeled & a few pieces introduced. Press well. Crushed garlic!
Fokin Professional Cooker - MW as well as Stovetop This is one of the most useful vessels, I bought in Singapore. It cost 7.50 in S'pore. It is 600 ml capacity & the model is JK-3. Holes are provided to allow steam to escape in lid as well as handle. The rest is all written in Chinese. I used it tocook oats on stovetop. It is ideal for boiling vegetabls in MW. It can be used for any cooking, on either, which is a special advantage.
Paneer Draining Vessel This is a stainless steel vessel with 3 parts, I bought in Bombay more than 10 yrs back. It has 3 parts - vessel, loose bottom, lid. The plate sits inside the vessel. The paneer bag is kep on it. The lid is kept over it. A heavy weight is kept so that it presses out all water from paneer & flattens it.
