Hi Iladies, Its good to see the latest topic "Rising Crude prices and inflation" in our group. Today's Crude price is 1 Barrel - 140$ As income increases, desire for transportation comfort starts leads to increase in demand of Oil leading t increase in Oil prices. The moment oil starts moving upwards, prices of every essential commodities increases due to high transportation cost. Basic thumb rule is to keep the demand for Oil Low to contain inflation. As an individual, there are many ways we could save our petrol/diesel consumption. Some of them are 1. Use public transport system as much as possible and take personal vehicles only during important occasions. 2. Executives can do car pool in their offices instead of 5 persons driving their big cars on OMR/Electronic city/White field areas and IT parks. 3. Sharing of pickup and drop of school children in same apartment complex. Ensure trust here. 4. In tier 2 cities and traffic less roads, matured children should be encouraged to use cycles to school. 5. Avoid high travels in personal vehicles for one or 2 persons and try to make advance plan by executive bus/rail/air mode. 6. Group of external activities so that at one shop, try to finish as much as possible instead of requently taking the vehicle out. 7. Commute to office early and return early aviding peak time traffic leading to more fuel consumption for shorter distances. 8. Gvt should also introduce more executive buses/electric trains and long distance trains. 9. Gvt should introduce high tax and high interest rate for purchasing 2 wheelers and cars. This would bring down the no. of vehicles on road. [Though this may have some impact on manufacturing industries.] 10. Alternative fuel sources like biogas should be explored. 11. Increase oil production and reduce importing Oil from Middle east. friends, pls share your points also. Even at individual level, we reduce our consumption by 10%, we can make an impact in our country's inflation and live in harmony .
Re: Fuel price hike - Isn't we expect a steep cut in fuel price Now? Hi Friends, We had started a post when the fuel price was steep. Now as the Oil rates have come below 40$ per barrel, shouldn't we expect a similar steep cut in fuel price? Don't we have to know how the Oil price had come down so cheap now?
The suggestion of 8 cylinders is somewhat similar to the suggestion of Sanjay Gandhi running around with compulsory Nasbandi programme to cut the population of India!
i was talking to my mom and i thought she was telling the petrol and gas prices has come down in India.
