Suttalum porrithalum applam doesn’t remain plain i mean flat. It turns out to be wavy. But kven i hv no experience but i guess applam warmed up in oven remains plain. Potato wafers of “lays brand” all remain crude elliptical flat. How they do it?

Not papad but I saw so many videos of water fried pooris that one fine day not so long ago I decided to try it out myself. Believe it or not but they tasted the same as oil fried pooris sans all the calories

When put in water the pouris are BOILED not FRIED. The heat of the boiling qater puffs them up the sdame way the heat of a stove puffs up a phulka roti. I don't know whether boiled and fried puris taste the same.

Indeed. Boiling tem of water and edible oil are ways apart. Maida or atta gets only cooked like rice in boiling water.
