Re: Fruit juices and Milk shakes-Strawberry Surprise

    Hi Ladies,

Here is a recipe that I came across in a book.
I did try it out. It came out very good. My kids loved it too.

    Strawberry Surprise.

    1 cup frozen strawberries
    3/4 cup ice cold water
    1 tbsp honey
    1 tbsp balsamic vinegar.
The recipe did not call for sugar. But I added 2 tsps of sugar.

Blend all the igredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. Pour it in glasses and decorate with a sprig of mint.
    Enjoy.....nice for a hot day...

    Jothi.

    Dear Karthiga,

Here is your Badam Kheer recipe. Try it out and let me know. I hope you like it

    BADAM / ALMOND KHEER

    Ingredients:

    25 almonds
    1 litre milk
    1/2 cup of water
    1/2 cup sugar
    2-3 cardamoms powdered
    10 strands of saffron

    Method:

Soak the almonds for about 6-8 hours atleast or overnight. Skin them and grind 20 of them with half a cup of water to a fine paste.
Chop the remaining 5 almonds and keep aside.
Boil the milk and when it is boiling add the ground almond paste.
Stir continuously and see that it doesn't stick to the bottom.
When it thickens a bit add the sugar and cardamom powder. Stir well.
Soak saffron in a teaspoon of warm milk. Add it to the boiling milk-almond mix.
When it is thicker, add the chopped almonds and remove from fire.
Serve chilled or hot as you like.

    Note:

If you plan to serve chilled in the evening you can soak the almonds overnight, make it in the morning and refrigerate till the evening.

    All the best,
    Latha :wave

    Khus-Khus lassi:

    milk - 1 cup
    almonds - 5-8
    khus-khus - 1 tsp
    pepper - 2-3
    sugar powder - 1/4 cup

Grind almonds, khus-khus, pepper to a fine paste and add this to boiled milk. Then add sugar powder and some water and serve chilled. This is a very good health drink.

    Dear karthiga,

If you lessen the almonds and put in riceflour the nutrients are gone isn't it?
You can add more almond paste and thicken the gravy by boiling it a little more.
You should get the consistency you like . Adjust to your taste.

    hello sundari bhaskar,
You can use raw green mango or even half riped as per your wish. You can add a little more sugar if it is a sour mango. Try this and send me your feedback. All the bests.

Re: Fruit juices and Milk shakes

    Jam shake:

Vanilla ice cream - 1 scoop
    Jam - 2-3 tsps
( any fruit jam or mixed fruit)
    Ice cubes

Blend all the ingredients well and serve cool. You can avoid ice cream and instead use milk and sugar. Very easy and colourful to prepare.
