    Hi Sasi, even in India nowdays people (atleast in cities) don't celebrate for 3 days. I don't know whether we will celebrate this year or not as there was a condolence in family and one year hasn't been completed yet. Sorry if I have missed it in your earlier posts, but you have a DD or DS?

    Hello CB, ssasi and all absentee members.

    Thanks CB, I am feeling much better now. Yeah, the custom of celebrating 3 days is vanishing. But we atleast celebrate, pongal and the next day (maat pongal ????) where u pray for ur brothers.
    But otherwise, pongal for me is putting elaborate kolams. I love to put color and start at 530 in the morning. (i.e., when I was in my native) Now since I am staying in quarters (ii floor) i have to make do with a small kolam.
    @ssasi - keep us informed about ur pongal receipe.
    @chillbreeze - the post that ssasi is referring is regarding new year new voices, where new ILites are to be encouraged to post more.

    Hi, glad to know that you are feeling better. Just some time back I was searching in snippets section for your new post:confused2:. Thanks for clarifying. My sister likes to decorate our house will kolams and stuff. For me all days are same, except that on holidays I get to watch tv and wash my clothes.

    Excellent quote Madhu, thanks for sharing it with me.

    By all days same I meant having stayed in hostel for long time, holidays are considered as days for just sleeping and shopping. Now things have changed. But still I can't seem to muster enthusiasm for festival preparations.

    CB, i understand what u r saying.
    when i was staying in hostel, even i used to feel the same. When I used to go home, all that i could think of was eating, eating and eating. But hostel days were fun, nothing can replace it. But the food was awful, watery tea, cucumber/tomato poriyal, etc., etc.,

    Hi Uma, Madhu, Sasi..I just finished cleaning and washing and sprucing up my room. Hopefully I won't have much work today. I want to sleep well and do a home facial.

    Madhu, food is one thing I don't miss from hostel. How many days leave you have for pongal. For me tomorrow is a holiday. Where is @mithu202
