    Dear IL'ites,

Forum for June 2009 is :

    Schoolgoers & Teens

There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: One is roots, the other is wings

The Quote simply summarizes the best way a parent need to handle a teenager child.
Teenagers are sensitive lot of children and demands a lot of attention, patience and understanding in handling them. Once you mastered and set the wavelength with your teen age child then they are like your best friend at home. We, parents become their soul mate lending ears to their rantings.
With such a dynamic forum at hand is there a dearth of topics to be discussed. Well no, go ahead and make the forum lively with the most useful discussions about school goers and teen agers.

Ladies ensure that the thread is lively calling for active participation from other ILites.

Are you new to the IL community? Want to know more about this contest?

Read here to know rules and guidelines for the "Popular Thread Contest" in the Forum of the month.

Some do's and don'ts to be followed for this contest:
    DOs:

    5. The threads should be started about parenting challenges/ tips of so that it will call for participation from co-members to share thoughts about the same.
    DON'Ts:

    1. No posting (copy-pasting) articles or information from other sources (like websites, books, magazines, emails etc.).

Get started with a popular thread...Good Luck!

    Dear ILites,

The winner for the Popular thread in the forum
Schoolgoers & Teens - IndusLadies is:

    Shanvy

    who started the thread :

    http://www.indusladies.com/forums/schoolgoers-and-teens/60823-living-your-dreams-through-your.html

which captured the mania of all the parents who want to guide their children into conventional careers like Engineering, Doctor.

and it has 80 replies with more than 1000 views. Thanks Shanvy for starting a thread that captures all the parent's dilemma. More so you made the thread alive and interesting by involving other ILites and encouraging them to participate

Ladies, join in congratulating Shanvy who has won this contest and making the Schoolgoers & Teens forum a lively hub of participation.

Shanvy, here is the special gift for winning the contest. It is a metal embossing of Sun God. Hope it finds a place of pride in your Living Area.

    Congratulations...Shanvy!

That was a very thoughtful post on behalf of the kids asking the Parents to give it a thought. While all parents want their kids to shine, it is also important that we don't make it a burden on them. Let them come out shining high in their true colors as per their own dreams.

I liked especially the way you wrote getting so many parents to join you in the discussions thinking along with you. That's what made your discussion successfully popular I guess!!
