Cheer,I will tell you one simple rasam which I make to help my kids out of gas problem..

    1/2 tomato
    1-2 cloves garlic

Grind these to a paste with water. After tempering a little oil with mustard seeds, add this paste, add salt, turmeric, jeera, hing. That's all.Allowthis to boil well.Your rasam will be ready in under 5 minutes. If you want to add pepper, coriander leaves etc, that is your choice.

You can mix this with rice and little ghee, grind in the mixie and give to the baby,it is really flavourful.

Please share some ideas on what you feed or fed your baby at 10 months. I am looking for some jiffy breakfast and snack ideas. I feed Riya whatever we make for dinner, doctoring it up whenever needed.

I am following some recipes from wholesome foods site, but looking from some indian recipes.

Raj, I used to give Vinay idli or dosai for breakfast.

I am yet to make this kanji maavu, me too lazy to make! ;-)

San, I wish I could do idli, dosa for b'fast too, but I don't make it as often as I would like to, especially on week days.

What else do you give him?

Raj - At 10 mnths Aadhu was on sathu maavu and ragi porridge for breakfast alternate days. I started on regular cereals from 12 mnths. Other ideas are egg yolk omlette/scrambled yolk, pancakes (made from flour and milk), toast and cheese, fruit yogurt/smoothie, upma (if you get rava that is quickest). Snacks - I am still on biscuits/fruits.

    Vanathi.

Vanathi, her pedi asked me to hold on to egg yolk until she's 1. We do get rava here, so I'll try Upma for her. And for cow's milk, I haven't started her on that yet. I can start her on that now (as one of the ingredients), don't you think? What are the symptoms for milk allergy? If she eats cheese and yogurt, can she still have allergy to milk?
