As per recommendation cows milk should not fed till your child is one year of age, talk to your pediatrician, either breast milk or baby formula.

    Hi Girls ,

i have a baby boy who will be completing 9 months soon. I am posting his schedule below.
Start the day by milk (120 ml formula)
    8.30 am ->(cerelac +cooked apple)
    11.00 am -> (120 ml formula)
1 to 1.30 pm Lunch -> (rice & moong dal khichdi with little ghee and any veggies (brocolli, potato, carrot, pumpkin, beetroot etc)
    4 to 5.00pm - either toast/biscuit or fruits ike watermelon, muskmelon/banana
7.00 pm dinner -> roti with milk /oats with milk

In night he needs 3 times milk else he refuses to go back to sleep and will keep crying till we give him milk. Is this okay??

How do i gradually help him go back to sleep without milk. I am planning to move his dinner time a bit later and also increase the quanity of dinner. Any other dinner items for babies which can keep them full for longer time or any other suggestions, please let me know.

After 9 months doctor has asked to introduce yoghurt and egg-yellow only.
I also plan to give him soaked & crushed almonds.any other nuts we can add ?

    cheers
    Selene

    Rasam recipe

Tamarind - 1/2 lemon size (Make tamarind water about 1.5 cups)
Tomato - 1/2 (cut into cubes)
    Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Tuvar dhall or Moong dhall - 1/4 cup boiled and mashed
    Hing - a pinch
    Rasam powder/ Sambar powder - 1 tsp
    Salt

    For tempering

    Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
    Jeera powder - 1/4 tsp
    Curry leaves - 2

Boil tamarind water, tomato, turmeric powder, rasam/sambar powder, salt and hing together till the raw smell of powder goes. Add boiled dhall and allow one boil. Temper with the ingredients listed above. For tempering use ghee.

Intially I did not add salt in rasam. Only after 9 months I started adding salt.

Girls, may be for dinner you should try this. Baked paneer potato mixed vegetable cutlet. It was filling as well. I know we all are going crazy thinking about new dishes hoping that the little ones will eat happily

    The recipe was very simple.

    (1) Boil 2 cups of mixed vegetables all cut in small squares. I used beans, carrots, peas, potatoes and sweet corn.
    (2) Frozen paneer, thaw it by soaking in hot water for 10 minutes and then crumble it by hand.
    (3) 2 slices of bread, soak it in water and then squeeze it completely and with your hands crumble it in a bowl.
    (4) Add the mixed vegetables to the bowl and Mash with fork.
    (5) In a pan, oil, then saute onion and add ginger-garlic paste. Then add as per your taste chilli, garam masala and corriander powder. Add the mixed vegetables and fry it for 1-2 minutes.
    (6) Add the paneer now and mix it again for 1-2 minutes.
    (7) Make patties of different shapes, I use cookie cutter to make different shapes.

Now, there are 2 ways to coat it.
If completely vegetarian, spread semolina in a plate and coat the patties
If eggitarian, Have egg whites in a bowl and bread crumbs in another. lightly dip the pattie first in the egg white and them coat them in bread crumbs.

Neatly align them in a baking sheet that is coated with oil. spray some oil over the patties too.
400C for 10 minutes on both sides. Or u can deep fry.

Serve with any tomato salsa (as ketchup is loaded with corn syrup)
