now that you all write,

though mine is not a great state of art one, i make vadai dough and the one from fp gives me a crispier one, same for the masala vadai (aama vadai). i mix dough for cookies, bread, cakes, even chappathi..

mixing for pakodas, and the likes was never so easy..

i chop greens, onions, carrots, cabbage, beets, potatoes, and the likes for curries and gravies..

and mince a lot of veggies.

Thank u for the detailed response. I understand that it may not be great for grinding idli rice , but u get crispy vadais - well that's a great news.

Well, guys you have tempted me soooo much for getting a FP. It has been in the parking lot for so long that now i cant resist.

Sure Anitha, let me check too.. since chopping gets so easy, I would prefer it..just a little worried about the space in my countertop. Live in an apartment, already have, grinder, mixie, coffee maker filling the counter top

I guess it is time to rearrange my kitchen to get this new addition
