Food chart for babies(7-12 months)

    Hi Friends,

    I am a ftm of 3 months old baby...
    Recently i got a book written by one of the leading pediatrician in my city...
    I am sharing the info given in that book...

    Note : 1) Whatever the supplement is given to the infant, should be started by giving only one spoon. check for any allergic reaction and then increase the quantity little by little

    2) Breast milk should be given upto 12 months

    7th and 8th month

    8am - Ragi porridge (50g)
    cod liver oil (3 drops)

    10am - Vegetables (Boiled and smashed) (25g)
    carrot/beetroot/potato/cabbage
    or
    syrup of green leafy vegetable(boil green leafy vegetable in water, grind it and then filter) (25ml)

    12 noon - Wheat porridge (50g)

    3pm - boiled apple (50g) or fruit juice without sugar (100 ml)

    5pm - soya porridge (50g)

    8pm - cholam(jowar) porridge (50g)

    9th and 10th month

    8am - Ragi porridge (50g)
    cod liver oil (3 drops)

    syrup of green leafy vegetable(boil green leafy vegetable in water, grind it and then filter) (25ml - 50ml)

    12 noon - Wheat porridge (50g) or boiled and smashed rice/dhal(50 - 100g)

    3pm - boiled apple (50g) or fruit juice without sugar (100 ml)

    5pm - soya porridge (50g) and egg yolk

    8pm - cholam(jowar) porridge (50g) and dates(soaked in boiled water and smashed) 2 no.

    11th and 12th month

    8am - Ragi porridge (50g) or idly(1 no) or pongal (50g)
    cod liver oil (4 drops)

    10am - Vegetables (Boiled and smashed) (50g)
    carrot/beetroot/potato/cabbage
    or syrup of green leafy vegetable(boil green leafy vegetable in water, grind it and then filter) (50ml)

    12 noon - Wheat porridge (50g) or boiled and smashed rice/dhal(100g)
    curd (50g)


    3pm - boiled apple (50g) or fruit juice without sugar (100 ml)

    5pm - cholam(jowar) porridge (75g) and whole egg

    8pm - soya porridge (75g) and dates(soaked in boiled water and smashed) 2 no.

    Nice chart but as far as I know, its better to avoid green leafy vegetables till ten months as they have nitrates which can be harmful for the baby. So please check again with your doctor before giving this syrup of green vegetables to the baby

    hi cutemonster,
    never knew green leafy veggies werent good for baby.
    I used to give it to my lil gal from 7 th onth!! :(
