    QUOTE[TOI]
For women, marriage and health are more complex. While being married can sometimes lead to longer life, the quality of the marriage is key. A loving, supportive relationship can boost mental and physical health, but a toxic one can do the opposite, increasing stress and health problems.
Women also often take on caregiving roles, adding more emotional and physical strain. This makes the health benefits of marriage less clear for women compared to men.
    Health choice as marriage decision
How being single or married affects men and women differently, as per study
While love and companionship remain at the heart of marriage, its impact on health is undeniable. For men, getting married might be one of the best decisions for a longer life. For women, the focus should perhaps shift to the quality of the relationship rather than simply its existence. A happy supportive marriage could be life-enhancing, however, sometimes the decision to stay single or to leave an unhappy relationship could indeed at times be the healthier choice.
