Ashwini Our ILites have discussed some good points on these threads http://www.indusladies.com/forums/infants/182779-tips-long-airline-travel-infants.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/infants/217856-questions-on-carrying-infant-flight.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/infants/75272-air-travel-2-3-months.html Ask your cousin not to forget to carry some emergency medicines(for example for fever ) Also that she must feed the baby when flight takes off and lands so that baby will not suffer ear pain due to air pressure change.
I traveled to India with my then 4 month old DD. I had a back pack full of baby stuff. Formula, feeding bottles, spare clothes, pacifiers, blankets, small story books, small toys, diapers, baby wipes, and extra clothes. Now, she is traveling with 6 month old so it's a good idea if she carries teether toys for the baby.To ease of the ear pressure during take off and landing of the flight, we can use pacifier for the baby to suck on. I had no luck because mine never liked pacifier to begin with. Did she ask for a bassinet when she booked the ticket? I got really good help from the flight crew for hot water and washing the bottles and refilling them. You will be with her.. right. That's going to be the great help/support. I flew alone with my DD.
