Thanks Deepa, narra and smita. narra no I didnot organize it but I did have the pleasure of representing India and Indian theme with a couple of my students in the show
Hi Srama, Thanks for sharing the stupendous collection of flowershow pictures. Please do post the ones that you presented with the Indian theme...must be super definitely. Once again let me add that the Garden contest that you set rolling here was simply delightful and gave so many of us an opportunity to come together to share our passion.
Paulina, thank you for your sweet words. Unfortunately in the flower show I did not display any Indian plants, though it is an idea to consider. I am afraid if I can even measure up to all the displays there - all of them were presentations from nurseries. So probably next year, if my Indian plants survive through the winter I could probably display them atleast in the India section. So to answer your question, I didnot post my Indian theme picture because I felt it was not relevant to gardening post The flower show had a small section for children and they wanted to expose kids to other cultures and we as India did rangoli helping kids create some flower designs using rangoli powder. It was quite amazing the way the kids responded and enjoyed, parents were only too happy that here was a craft/art form which one enjoyed but didnot have to take home. Thank you for your nice words about the garden contest as well. Believe me I enjoyed it so much - it was fodder for creativity and was such a joy and encouragement to get ideas, to learn and to experiment. Thanks for all your enthusiastic participation.
