I do not understand the climax in drsishyam.The little gal had told the truth to the police about varun due to fear. However ,though not able to find the body of varun (instead there was a dead animal the police DO know that georgekutty and family killed the boy (as the little gal was hit by sahadeva and she got scared and told the truth that her family buried the body in the backyard) then how come instead of investigating where georgekutty cleared the body,how come he was proven innocent? Please help me understand that?
I don't know Malayalalam. I watched with hazy subtitles, but this is what I understood. I don't think the little girl witness the death of varun. All she saw was that something was burried which is what she told the police. While the police knew that something was fishy, they need to find the dead body first to prove anything. While the IG thought something was weird about the alibi, but it was her perception as there was no way she could prove anything. Hence she herself was unsure if she is barking up on the wrong tree. Does that make sense?
The little girl saw her sister, and mother carrying something and burying it in the backyard. She did not see her mother and sister killing the boy, and burying the boy. And basing upon that she said, police digged and came up with a dead animal.
I think they need to pull out the number of view from the forum. I haven't seen anything useful based on it, but lots of anxious posters asking, why no responses, but there have been "x" views....
He wasn't proved innocent, once the dead animal came out, mohanlal, uses that opportunity and starts telling media how he and his family is being treated and the social anger takes course and it leads to suspensions and resignations of many police officers. Eventually the town stand by their initial thought that george kutty is innocent. but the last climax scene shows that to clear his conscious he does tell Varuns parents the truth and asks for forgiveness.. The concept of this story was that nothing is right or wrong in this case, both parents are doing what they can to their best for their children/ family. you should watch the original movie, I liked it much better than this.
Before and after padam has similar thought as well. But I think director tweaked for Malayan audience ..lol
