Fish pulusu!!!(fish in tamarind sauce) I like to prepare "fish pulusu". It has been a long time I prepared fish since my husbend stopped eating non veg. Now I like to prepare again. What kind of fish suitable for pulusus...I mean fish in tamarind sauce. I know cat fish will not be that good for fish pulusu. I heard about "gross hooper" and thilapia. I heard thilapia has great bad smell...not bad ...too much fish smell...we eat meat but we cann't stand for those "dirty smells of fish and meat". So can anyone suggest some kind of fish it goes well to prepare fish pulusu? Thank you.
Re: Fish pulusu!!!(fish in tamarind sauce) Hi Srilak, KingFish & Salmon will give the best flavour & taste ! Tilapia is popular as it is cheaper but never tried it at all . If you buy fresh fish, smell will not at all be there -- don't buy the pieces cut & kept on the ice. Select a whole fish & ask him to cut the slices from that --:thumbsup freshness guaranteed.
Re: Fish pulusu!!!(fish in tamarind sauce) yes Salmon tastes yummy when made with tamarind pulusu,we have a saying here in AP,fish curry is much tastier the day after its cooked,always take the whole fresh fish and marinate it and put it in the freezer so that we can cook it as and when required.
Re: Sea Food Grace and latha.....thanks for the reply. I didn't get the time to prepare the fish pulusu. Then I will choose salmon to make pulusu. Here we have ranch market so I will enquire whether they have salmon or not. I saw cat fish,stripped bass and white pompert.....but didn't see salmon there...I have to find out. Thank you.
