Thanks. Yes, children are naturally smart with their communication. But we elders always tend to discourage them.

For most part of my life I was pretty naive and gullible. I have always told my marks. Once a class-mate borrowed my answer sheets for "studying" it. But unknown to me he took it to the Professor and argued.
"My answer is similar to Sridhar's. You have given him 10 marks but only 5 for me. What's the reason."
    My professor shouted at him.
"He deserves 10 and you don't even deserve 5. If you ask once again I will reduce your marks."
The class-mate returned my sheets without telling anything. The professor then called me:
"I have never seen a greater idiot than you scoring such good marks."
Well, I was careful from then on.

As usual I enjoyed your reply. BTW what's the expansion of WTF?

    hi vjb,
The first rule in communication is to delay it. If you are going to talk about something very important, mull over it for as many days as you can. When you do that words will form in your mind and then you can speak out clearly and get the desired result.

    All the best.
thanks a lot for coming in,
    sridhar

You are right about the Tamil proverb, sis. That aptly sums up the situation.
It all depends on viewing things from the other man's point of view.
When I negotiate any deals I always sit on the other side of the table and analyse the other man's pros and cons. If it appears to me that he is losing on the deal I tell him,
"There is something fishy about the deal. You appear to be losing. No one will struggling this hard to get a losing deal. Tell me what's hidden."
Then he will come out with some subtle facts and then when we both are quite transparent we enter into the transaction.
If the other man says, "Sridhar Sir, what if I make a loss. I want you to gain."
I know it's bull**** and then call off the deal.
    thanks for coming in,
    sridhar
