Finishing 50 laps

Today we completed 50 years of being together.
My daughters could not come at this time so they had celebrated it last month, a full month in advance.

Today we went to Cheshire home and had lunch with the inmates there. Thanking God and just living from day to day.

We had a good life mostly living in Africa and coming home in 1996 after my husband's retirement.

In this long innings many things happened . We met and lost a lot of people.

Among others lost my son in law in 2012 at age 46, My daughter was left with two kids 9 and 11. She is now working in Lucknow as a teacher.

We were living with her when Lost our son in 2014 at age 44. leaving his wife (39) and a son (14). So now we are back in Mumbai to be with them.

My husband had a heart surgery in 2003, I had cancer last year and am now a survivor.

We dont know what the future will bring. But I have known one thing that whatever happens, something new opens up. There is no point in pining. And when a souls work is done it will go on its own journey. Also If your time has come nothing will save you and if it hasnt nothing will kill you.

In the ledger of life Things are pretty balanced.

Anyway today I awarded my husband Ashok Chakra ( National Bravery Award in army) for putting up with me. AND awarded my self Param Veer Chakra for putting up with him.

Shobamma dear congratulations for completing 50 years. Happy Wedding Anniversary. May God bless you both and keep you always healthy and happy. Sorry to know that you lost your son in law and son. I pray to God for the good health of both of you. After going through so many problems its nice to see you a strong person.
