Dear All What a glorious month March has been despite the fact that the time has come for me to take leave of you in this fantastic Forum. Kamla is back to resume her delightful job and she has even locked up my March Nomination thread! I can understand her eagerness to get started. The FP forum is out and out her baby and she has watched it grow into such lovely adults as the regulars of this Forum. I just did some babysitting! There is one job that needs to be completed and that is announcing the Winners for March 2012. Let us now take a quick look at all the entries this month. There are 27 of them, each one being a Star (pun intended)! My loving sister Viji made the auspicious beginning of nomination with Bhargavi’s thread ‘A sister…just as sweet as Strawberries and cream’! Can you beat it? A sister picking up a thread on a Sweet Sister for the first nomination! Then mums noticed the redoubtable Kamalji taking a dig at ‘Beggars of a special kind’ with his inimitable brand of humour! Mums then moves on to the ‘utterly butterly’ (as Amul would say) love of Bhargavi for her little son which she expresses through ‘T shirts with 100 buttons’ Then kottravai notices Meenasankaran slapping her cheeks. Thinking that it must be Lord Ganesa that she was slapping her cheeks at, she moves in and sees what? Her family medico, Dr.V! Hoping that at least this V stands for Vinayaga, kottravai nominates the juicy thread Slap your cheeks at Dr.V!! Mums comes back to tell us about the young Megalife’s yearning for ‘Retired Life’! I can’t blame Mega for this unique yearning being a much retired man myself but she does not seem to know that retirement merely signifies a change in the nature of duties! Ruminating over her distant retired life, she probably remembered the most retired man of the community, cheeniya, and goes along with him ‘In search of solitude!’ Mindian is a very well rounded personality and in keeping with it, she declares ‘What goes around, comes around’ and who comes around to spot it? Another well rounded personality of course. Bhargavi! Viji does her sister act again bringing into sharp focus the sufferings of Megalife at a buffet lunch. The stuffy situation that Mega talks about is not in her office or home but in her stomach in consequence of her massive effort to justify the amount of money paid for the lunch! Pallavi puts in her maiden appearance in FP Forum with a poignant nomination of mums ‘To eyes with love’ Rosy 786 throws her weight behind this nomination. Pallavi warms up to her task nominating this time blackbeauty’s ‘Grass is never green’. She simply implies that when a person is green with envy for others’ good life, even grass may appear colourless! The unassuming rosy 786 points out to us that it will be worthwhile to follow mum’s ‘ideas to preserve Mother Nature through easy steps in day to day life.’ The highly discerning kottravai wants us to learn ‘A lesson in humanity’ from privytrifles. I go with Megalife who has also thrown her weight behind this nomination when she classifies it as ‘the not to be missed’ category. Having directed us to learn a lesson in humanity from privytrifles, kottravai points out a greater lesson awaiting us in the question that Happy2be’s child asking her ‘Mamma, why didn’t God make us perfect?’ Megalife and Pallavi find this question highly illuminating too. Bhargavi barges in to tell us we have been pretty serious for quite a while and it is time to smile reading kkrish’s ‘This week it’s only smiles’ and the whole FP forum is suddenly illuminated by one mega grin! Pallavi must have been ruminating over blackbeauty’s ‘Grass is never green’ after nominating it and looks around desperately for some greenery and tells us about ‘Green Buildings, a new concept in India’. It does not miss g3sudha’s eyes either! My dear sister viji gets infected with Srama’s enthusiastic shout ‘Stories, yoga, philosophy-of what a weekend!’ Srama’s insatiable thirst for knowledge is getting more and more intense as we can see it from this thread of hers. Aruna wants us to go over to Megalife’s place for a cup of coffee and what a suspense filled cuppa it turns out to be! Ooph…! Viji decides to show us her flair for mathematics with the nomination of Sriniketan’s ‘Do you celebrate maths?’ Why just maths? Sriniketan can make any subject worthy of celebration and do you know that a pi can be 3 point something, an eatable and a bag? smileAlways means business and tries to live her name always. For making us smile, she nominates Bhargavi’s Northeast Nostalgia. Lord Hanuman brought the Sanjeevi mountain to revive Lord Rama and Lakshmana lying unconscious in the battle field of Lanka. Bhargavi brings Nagaland to IL to revive our sagging spirits! Pallavi gets on with her job nominating viji’s changing feelings. Mercifully her memories remain intact so that she can treat us to her own brand of feast on a daily basis! Saisakthi redirects Nav23’s question to us about ‘Who changed the clock/Time?’ Certainly not me. Did you by any chance? Aruna moves in surreptitiously with her teeth chattering to nominate lovelyme’s horror story ‘The Coat’. Even after lovelyme reassured Aruna that it was a mere dream, her teeth never stopped chattering! Pallavi reaches a crescendo with her nomination of blackbeauty’s ‘Butterfly effect?’ and kkrish supports it with a beautiful summing up. Satchi says ‘Amen’ too! If you want to draw a line connecting camels, Diabetes, Travel and Business Plans, I suggest that you leave the work to Satchi. She is such an adept at such things. An appreciative Kamala accompanied by Bhargavi stands there marveling at this capacity of Satchi. Mansimahi pretends to be a clumsy eater but Aruna points out to us that her clumsiness is itself is all about the art of eating aimed at imparting unbounded joy to the onlooker! Daffodil is a daughter that any dad would love to have. She never forgets what her dad has given her. Deepu rightly thinks that this should be brought to the notice of dads like me. Bhargavi in the end notices Mega blowing hot and cold. And she announces coolly that she is proud to be uncool! I have given you a short resume of every nominated thread. Don’t you agree with me that it is unfair expecting a hairless man to pull his hairs in deciding the winner? The quality of stuff nominated to FP keeps improving every month and we may need to increase the number of awards to be given to each aspect of writing. After a great deal of thinking (I don’t have the services of a Third Umpire!), I pick Bhargavi’s ‘Northeast Nostalgia’ as the winner of the Finest Narration of the Month. Congrats Bhargavi for a great piece of writing and the great visuals and congrats smileAlways for nominating it. Blackbeauty’s ‘Butterfly effect?’ edges past others in getting the award for the Best Contribution of the month. Congrats blackbeauty for telling us about the Butterfly Effect in terms of your personal experience and congrats Pallavi for nominating this gem. Sri All the winners, please send your contact information to the following id so the gifts can be sent to you. support@indusladies.com

It was only by chance that my eyes landed on this post and I am stumped..no, I am floored..or overwhelmed, etc etc etc! What an announcement and what a write up! You are doing this just to give me the jitters!!:spin I read it in one breath! Yes I am back. But this time round you can bet upon it that we at FP will turn to you to bail us out whenever we meet a challenge...be it selecting the gem out of gems or to reflect upon gems!!
