No Vidya. There is no nomination system for blogs. A very competent member of our community goes through all the blogs every month and selects the best one. In other words, every Blog is like a nominated entry.

Lots of people have said lots of things for and against sending old parents to Old Age Homes. I have written a full thread on this subject.

There is no ready made solution to this issue. All I know is that the people who send their parents to Old Age Homes do so for very genuine reasons and there can be no questionable motive there. Some of them feel so bad about this option and curse their helplessness. I must also point out that there are numerous parents who prefer to stay in Old Age Homes voluntarily because they need that independence. This is not a social issue but a purely personal one which hardly calls for a public discussion!

Thanks a lot for your nomination of RGS' fabulous thread http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/200666-rote-3.html#post2578054 This thread has generated a lot of interest with almost all the members expressing their complete agreement with his view. The beauty of the thread and his take on the subject of 'Rote' is that he is merely suggesting it as a necessary step in some chosen areas to build our knowledge base. He has clearly pointed out the Rote by itself cannot be the 'be all and end all' but rote should be a stepping stone for reaching the higher domains of wisdom.

I loved this thread and also Shanvy's further enunciation. A rewarding experience indeed!
