Some years ago, Hillary Clinton popularized the African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child." During the most intensive years of parenting, I often thought to myself, "It takes a village to raise a parent." Parenting challenges and humbles us like nothing else. There are countless situations when we find ourselves at our wits' end, unsure of what to do. In those moments, we often turn to those who have been through the same experiences. We listen to them with keen ears, open eyes, and hopeful hearts. The Winner of the Finest Post Award is @Laks09 for her empathetic response to a desperate parent: Need Advice On Better Parenting My 3rd Grader Laks offers practical advice to a stressed working mother, emphasizing the importance of accepting limitations and outsourcing whatever can be outsourced. The response is supportive, reassuring, and nudges the mother towards avoiding unnecessary guilt and to give herself much needed grace. Thank you to @iyerviji for nominating the winning post, and thank you to @Thyagarajan for joining the nominators!
Hearty congratulations @Laks09 I am happy my nomination got award and also you got. You deserve the award and all your advises are super
@Laks09 My dear Laks After reading your posts and threads, I always wonder why you don't take writing as a profession and publish a book through outfits like Amazon. This prize winning post of yours is yet another proof. Hearty congratulations on winning the FP award this month. No one can be happier than me at this!
@Rihana I am seriously thinking of selecting from your posts gems like these and compiling 'Rihana's Quotable Quotes' What you have said is very true. My mother too probably felt it over 80 years back but lacked the word power to express it as you have done! A great job again Rihana but all these are chicken feed for you!
@iyerviji My dear Viji Your childlike enthusiasm never fails to amaze me. You are our one (wo) man army! God bless you!
Congrats to @Laks09 for the well thought out response to the @Sweety2016 post that secured her the FP Award for month July, '24. My thanks to @Rihana for mentioning inter alia my name too in the "awesome" announcement. Parenting is universal problem requires enormous patience and EVOLVING & improvising newer methods requires at times counselling. I must congratulate @iyerviji for picking and nominating the best. Collectively I guess all members in that boat owe a thanks to @Sweety2016 for seeking solution.
@Laks09, Hearty congratulations for winning the finest post for the month of July 2024. You never fail to amaze me when you write about parenting. It shows how blessed your children are and what a good mother you are! It takes patience to write such a wonderful note to a parent especially without making them feel that they lack skillset to be a good parent.
