Post by @anika987 - Dreading This Ladies Party As always a straight from the heart thread by Anika. Many of us can relate to the conundrum of a party we are invited to, kind of want to go, but at the same time we feel some unease about the event. In other news, I have now progressed from a rare guest at such events to a frequent organizer. Response by @mangaii - I Am Not Able To Ignore! WhatsApp can be a blessing and it can be a nightmare. I seriously think the groups feature should be removed or have a limited shelf life. A simple and practical suggestion by @mangaii in her response - "put some groups in mute mode."
Response by @mangaii - What's Wrong With Me? Why Cant I Just Listen? Another response by @mangaii which gives the OP candid and uncomplicated do's and don'ts in the eternal dilemma of how much to take care of visiting in-laws.
Snippet by @Balajee - Adventure Sports Of New India A timely snippet given the Olympics that are in progress. Indeed, the regular Indian citizen accomplishes many Olympic level feats in day to day life. A thoughtful snippet by @Viswamitra - What Is Mind Hard to pick one thing that stood out as each thought there is worthy of reflection, but the time and energy wasted on the past and future are something we should strive to do less and less of. "Instead of using the tools that are gifted to us wisely and effectively, we waste those tools in regretting the past or feeling anxious about the future without enjoying the present."
Response by @hrastro - Course Enrollment Advice For My 8th Grader I have some lovely memories of teachers who held my hand when I was a little child and helped me learn how to hold the slate-pencil and later the regular pencil. Then there are noble souls who guide the parents themselves. One such is our dear @hrastro, a Godsend for any parent with education related questions, more so, at the secondary and college level. Whenever I see a question related to education, I sincerely hope HR happens to log in soon. Snippet by @hrastro - Follow In The Footsteps A gem of a post by HR. The gist being that we cannot tell kids what to to, we have to model it. And, HR has followed up that simple truth with an endearing example from her own life. As we read the snippet, we are taken through the many scenarios of music in the household flowing from one room to another, one generation to another. Response by @Viswamitra - Follow In The Footsteps A heartwarming post like HR's is bound to draw a response that is equally touching. Thank you for sharing, Viswa, felt very peaceful to read your narration, in particular the recalling of Vishnu Sahasranamam from memory after so many years.
Response by @shama146 - Don't Know How To Handle Sometimes "ignore" is the best option. What cannot be cured must be endured. And enduring becomes more bearable if one ignores certain comments and actions. A most practical suggestion from @shama146 in the response.
Thank you to our dearest @iyerviji and @Thyagarajan for the nominations! My apologies for the late in responding to the nominations.
