Gaze no more in the bitter glass
The demons, with their subtle guile,
Lift up before us when they pass
    - Yeats!

When the going gets tough, Yates has asked us to look at the positives in life. Isn’t this very similar to our own abc’s words?
    • @abc00 has managed to convey the yin and yang of life with her post. The duality is everywhere. If we focus on the positives, we get energized as opposed to getting pulled down by the naysayers. I’d love to nominate her entire response here for FP!

Thank you, Viji. The love and affection you have for everyone here makes it so perfect that you bring @messedup's straight from the heart writing to FP.

@messedup has eloquently articulated the deep connection between a mother and child. I am reminded of a lesser know quote about motherhood:

"For when a child is born the mother also is born again." ~ Gilbert Parker

Mistt, a thought-provoking post by Thyagu @Thyagarajan. After reading it, I was thinking about two things in parallel. One, who could the industrialist be. Two - how the message of the post could be applied to our treatment of time. If we measure time's value like we measure the value of material things, we will be more careful with how we spend it.

It would vary among individual depending upon their profession.
For example 0.01 second, an Olympian medal was lost to India but for me one hundredth of a second remains insignificant for ever.
Waiting for his lover to arrive at the rendezvous, for her - every passing minute would be felt as eternity.

Reading this quote after a long time, Laks.

I read the crisp post by @beautifullife30 and was ruminating on its message. But since it got nominated for FP, it lingered in the mind for longer.

"... cook something you've always wanted to try"
became a message I took literally and not so literally. Ended up cooking two dishes only for myself. When we went on a coastal hike, I stopped when I felt like, and sat on a bench for as long as I wanted. Watched my Netflix in the family room without headphones after dinner. : )

It was really startling to find so many ways in which we women tend to put everyone else's needs and wants first. The post is a reminder worth pinning.

Thank you Viswa for seconding Laks' nomination. That you were moved to support the nomination after your six were used up speaks volumes about the impact of the post.
