We learned in school history books about how the British ruled India, how Gandhiji got us freedom, and so on. What we didn't learn about are the more captivating anecdotes of human interaction between the rulers and the common man. Thanks to this snippet by @Thyagarajan I came to know the story of Peter Rous and the goddess Meenakshi Amman. Madurai Meenakshi Chithirai Thiruvizha Thank you for nominating this informative and engrossing post, Viswa.
Response by @Laks09 in Home Or Away? Whether we are away from home for 12 hours, a weekend, a few weeks, or longer, we start to miss it. The missing can be in tangible ways like missing one's bed, bathroom : ) or a vague sense of some vacuum one cannot define. SGBV has an even more unique situation as the stay over the past years has been in many countries. Laks09 provided a practical view on the choice. And as every choice means one option is not chosen, Laks09 also included how to make up for the option not taken.
I thought I had April neatly wrapped up, made peace with the missed goals, and told myself "May" had a nice strong ring to it and would be a fresh beginning. I was feeling quite sanguine about a month that knows that the best day to start itself is a Monday. : ) And then came this nomination. : ) It made me investigate the resolved April in a way that will make May stronger. You say I am rambling? You may be right. When one reads a snippet that has parts you are easily nodding in agreement with, and parts that have you pause really long, then, one finds oneself thinking thoughts that surprise oneself. Thank you my dear Viji Jaan for bringing in this nomination to FP: Life Is About Learning by @satchitananda ====================================================== The month started off with a post by Satchi being nominated and ended similarly. I count that as an august achievement for any month. : ) Once again a majority of the nominations were by everyone's dearest @iyerviji. . Much, much appreciated.
