    In literature the plagiarism, copying of others’ work, is the disease almost every writer has contacted at one or another time. When you copy from one person, it is plagiarism. But if you copy form five persons’ works, then it is called the research.

    So this morning I was doing the research. And the subject of my research was, ‘Why the happiness is illusory in a married life’. I desired to find out the exact definition of the word "Married Life".

    I contac
    ted the persons ranging from William Shakespeare to reverend Lady Diana. I though that these knowing much about the married life.
    Shakespeare writerly fondled his fingers in his beard, look at the colourful clouds above, and said, “Love is the most beautiful of dreams and the worst of nightmares.”

    Shakespeare's reply was like writing a comment for a blog or a thread on IndusLadies, everything goody goodies.

    However in this field of activities, I found Diana more charming than Shakespeare.

    Once asked about her marriage, reverend Lady Diana had said that “
    Well there were three of us in the marriage so it was a bit crowded. (BBC interview, 1995).

    You know sometimes even the big building like Buckingham Palace can be a tight place to accommodate three persons at a time.

    Inspired by the thoughtful answer by Lady Diana, I went on for more dependable opinions from
    those of who had proven record of success.

    Being mesmerized by Sigmund Freud’s intelligence, I sought his guidance about the nature of marriages. I sometimes think that why most of the intelligent men preferred to have long beards. Though I have never grown a beard. Nor I have asked Salman Rushdie, either about the beards or about marriages. But Sigmund Freud was simple. He said: The great question... which I have not been able to answer... is, "What does a woman want?''

    To be very frank, I am not as ignorant as Freud in this branch of knowledge. I know much about the wants of women, especially the woman with whom I have been tied forever. I know that a life after marriage is like bathing in a hot water pool; once you are accustomed to it, it is not so hot.

    I was not fully contended yet. So desiring more scientific basis for happiness in married life, I find out Albert Einstein. On why the married men and women feel cheated and disappointed, he said that it is because," Women marry men hoping they will change. Men marry women hopping that they will not change."

    At last I consulted Oxford Dictionary, as it is the sole saviour of mine, when I feel myself blind in respect of meaning of a word. Here what it says:

    Marriage : (is) Legally recognized personal union entered into by a man and a woman usu. with the intention of living together and having sexual relations, and entailing property and inheritance rights;
    the condition of being a husband or wife;
    the relation between persons married to each other.
    I think this is too much; I mean this definition covers so many things.

    Let me stop my research here.
    <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--><!--[endif]-->

    I request all of my friends on IndusLadies to help my reasearch and educate me about their own experiences while being IN or OUT of the castle called Married Life. I would also love to know the secrets of those bold men and women who have courageously jumped out of the castle and regained their God-gifted freedom.

    Those who are still unmarried and happy are free to put their sighs as comments. And those who are married, please tell about your hardships only and avoid putting in the sighs, otherwise the comment box would be wet with the tears.

    I am hopeful that my friends on IndusLadies would surely help my research project for finding the most wanted definition of the word 'Marriage'.

    Hi Navaljee,

    Marriage is a painful commitment which most of the couple live through for the sake of Society and force many others to follow!

    Navalbhai : Marriage is an institution where two people who have temporarily lost their insanity unite and have fun until they gain sanity but then it is too late.

    ;-) interesting question..

    So, whats marriage:

    It is a social contract between two individuals that unites their lives legally, economically and emotionally(in most cases).

    But,
    more than 2 is allowed in many different cultures and traditions. So its upto an individual to decide how many to be in this union ;-) (Ushh.. whispering: Check out Kamalji's thread.. Seems like hes researching if it might help in longetivity.. whats up with you guys.. researching on funky stuffBig Laugh]

    Also,
    its just not a man-woman union, it can be man-man, woman-woman and who knows it might be something - something in later years to come Witsend

    So end of the day its union between humans (for now) who want

    (1) Legal acceptance of their union
    (2) Economic fulfillment (for who Harhar)
    (3) Emotional Stability (who reaches insanity first depends on their partners, me thinks)
    (4) Legitimize the sexual desires
    (5) To produce babies
    (6) To show their love(in most cases ;-)) for their partner to the society
    (7) When single, society and others torture them to get married in some culture, that is.
    (8 ) Its always greener in the other side, so some fall into this pit as wellBig Laugh

    (9) Some get married for the materialistic reason [ Can be anything, money, Green Card, Blue card, Citizenship and what not]
    (10) Some get married because they don't have anything else to do HarharHarhar

    more later bonk

    Yes, the jail called Married Life is only jail in the world that everyone wants to be recruited in happily. Not only that, but they go with a band party and bursting the high audible crackers, as if they are going to win a castle.

    [IMG]

    But one thing is certain that this is the jail living in which the men and women learn how to live happily even if facing a truckload of the hardships.

    To Ms. SupriyaDinesh

    Many a times it happens that the life changes for men while it is the women who have to change for everyone in the family. That's the tradition. But many things are changing.
