Ideas for Investments Hi, I am working women with 2 kids (Daughter, son ). I want to invest some amount of money every month ( 5K to 7.5K ).please let me which is the best option. Is it worth buying gold in smaller denominations? or invest in SIP plan. Please advise.
Re: Ideas for Investments You can join in Tata gold plus plan. In that, say for eg. if you want to get 2gms of gold and the rate per gm is Rs.2200, then you can pay 4400 and fix 2gms of gold in your account. And later whenever you want it, you can get as gold ornaments/gold coin. once you join this plan, you should be in the plan for atleast 3 months. later you can withdraw it. a minimum of half gm amount should be paid. the great advantage is no need to safeguard the gold if you get it in hand.. it is safe and secure..
Shaishav - I have a kid (just celebrated first B'day). Hope I can cover the PM restrictions very soon. Anyway I need to plan my financial goals in better way.. Thanks Shaishav for giving this opportunity to learn and plan for my future. Thanks, Indivara
Hi Indivara, If you have a kid...Then 40 lakh is not going to be enough...We'll have to plan better and I will give you a better idea about how to do it. Are you cochin? As I said in my previous posts to you...You are young and right financial decisions made now will give you benefit of compounding and you can accumulate huge amount for future. Send me a PM when you are eligible for using the PM service. I guess the requirement is 10 posts in last one month... Regards, Shaishav
Re: Ideas for Investments Hi nutty_witty I guess the purpose of your proposed investment is funding your kid's education. Correct me if I am wrong. If I am correct, you need to calculate backwards and see how much you need to invest to achieve the goal (kid's education) instead of deciding how much you want to invest. Buying gold is okay but not more that 10% of you total portfolio. Buy gold only through ETFs. Regards, Shaishav
Re: Ideas for Investments Hi Shaishav, Can you please let me know what is ETF?? How to buy gold through that?
Re: Ideas for Investments Hi Sabari, ETF = Exchange traded funds. These are mutual funds which are traded on the stock exchanges like shares. Gold ETFs = Gold exchange traded funds These are mutual funds which invests only in gold and your investment moves up or down based on the change in gold prices. You need to have a demat account to buy ETFs But your investment in gold should not be more than 10% of your total portfolio. Regards, Shaishav
Re: Ideas for Investments Very informative thread..thanks a lot for this.. Gold is one good option for investment..also we can invest in shares if ready for risk sometimes..but buying them in smaller quantities is safe..but definitely after careful study of the market..
