    How does it feel in the end after running a marathon but for longer than anticipated? How does it feel to lay on the ground after a long hike when your legs give up and taking a single breath seems so heavy? How does a small accomplishment taste when it knocks your door after years of hardworking and waiting … finally, What is success when some reach it in half the time it takes you to even imagine it?

    Have you ever felt like a feather? light and floating and not feeling anything… Not able to think about the weight you carried.. Not knowing where you would land floating .. just gracefully dancing to the wind you are carried away.. is that how a small accomplishment feels like a calm feather floating weightless in the sky with no desire to drop on the ground.

    I never wanted to be part of a race or a competition. I moved mountains to exit out of competitiveness that was holding us back. With each step, I sifted and refined, holding onto just a few grains to carry me forward one step at a time. I went back and examined every step of mine, wondering where I went wrong how come a well-planned person like me can do everything wrong in this life. But then I realized with the circumstances provided to me and the challenges thrown at me this is the best I could do. Even with the depth of worries that were trying to drown me, I reached to the shore with every little strength I had and now I lay on the shore, breathless, in the tranquility of the mind, in the silence of the shore & the gentleness of the breeze. I know this is just a small pause before my journey continues again either with the same set of challenges or maybe even more but as long as I am here, I will have to remind myself not to give up. I might fail again but I still need to take one step a day one day at a time. I may not be at 20000 ft height to view the whole world and I may never get there but I will get to a small peak even if it means I have to crawl my way up to see the view. I am not there yet. My journey continues and all I seek is only mental strength and clarity. To all those loving kind hearts that stood by me and still holding me together I will ever be grateful!

    @jskls
    Your opening para reminds me of the great movie Forrest Gump featuring Tom Hanks running across US for 1170 days!

    Dear Lakshmi,

    So happy to see you back with a wonderful snippet. How are you doing? I guess you used an analogy of race/marathon to describe the mental strength that is needed to face the adversities we encounter in our day to day life. In this, even a participation improves our knowledge and character. We are constantly learning something or the other. Determination and courage help us in our journey. The enjoyment comes from not by winning the competition but by what we learned and how we feel after participation.

    Each person's path is different and is built by the energy generated internally using the tools that each person has. We do feel lighter and lighter when we don't let the past drag us down like the gravity nor let the future makes us drown. When we remain calm, cool and collected, we become lighter like a feather letting things to develop and remain in the present. It let you smell the roses and enjoy it. With more care and diligence, the entire life can be made into a zone just like what happens when we hike a peak or run a race/marathon.

    Your snippet reminded me of this.

    Is It A Race Or Marathon?

    Hmmm, big or small it may be, I feel accomplishments shouldn't be measured on a scale; pat yourself more. :wink1: You deserve this success, annnd the pause, so take your time to cherish both. Cheers for many more happy moments in your life! :beer-toast1:

    Thanks @Viswamitra sir for wonderfully catching the complete essence of this snippet as well as giving me the reason for the way of feather floating feeling. I did read your snippet as well and you have very well articulated the lessons I learnt after a lifetime experience. Thanks for sharing your in depth perspective as well.
