Yes true aakriti. But what can we do? We in India, especially in North India can't eat food without oil and spices. Mirch-masala is the main part of our dishes... Frying vegetables like karela, bhindi etc. are essential to make them eatable.

I do try to cook healthy food in my house but its quite hard to find things which are both tasty and healthy. With so many fast food restaurants and dhabas around, it is really hard to force your family to eat healthy.

    what do i do?

    Dear ILites!!

My suggestion to one and all is...

" Reduce the in-take of Sweets ". There are more number of diabetic cases in India compared to other contries, and I feel it is because of our food habbits.

So... change to healty lifestyle and save the next generation(our Kids!!:thumbsup)

That's true... our eating habits do put us at a higher risk of diabetes because we eat food that's very high in sugar content. Maida, rice, sugar, etc. are a part of our daily diet. I have seen people putting 3 full spoons of sugar in their cup of tea. Why don't we rather just invite diabetes with an invitation card? I think it will be a better and easier way to catch the disease.

so, stop turning your tea and coffee into sugar syrups people. Nobody in the world drinks their tea and coffee as sweet as we do.

This is a very wrong notion. Only sugar doesn't cause diabetes. Many Indians think that as diabetes is sometimes called Sugar, it is caused only by sugar. In fact, diabetes is a lifestyle disease which is caused by lack of exercise, excess of fatty and sweet foods.

If you eat lots of sweets, but live a healthy lifestyle, then you can eat as many sweets as you want.
