The Kalkaji Temple, surprisingly, has a very modern and contemporary look. The temple has special significance during the Navratras. At that time, a fair is held at the temple premises. This fair is attended by thousands of devotees. Hoards of hawkers gather near the temple. The fair also witnesses groups singing hymns and songs eulogizing the Goddess.

It is indeed believed that the Pandavas and Kauravas had worshipped at this temple during the times of Yudhishthir.

This twelve-sided structure is made of marble and black pumice stones. It has a plain and simple look. It does not have complex ornamentations.
