re: Home Remedies for Face ...face masks

    Dear Ammukutty,

Of course you can use Extra Virgin Olive oil for beauty purpose. The ancient Greeks used to bathe with oil, using a special scraper to take off the excess. Barring allergies, most vegetable oils are compatible with the skin. To moisturize dry skin, apply it daily directly to dry spots and stretch marks. You're not going to be using that much so use the best olive oil; extra virgin. Pure and Light olive oil has been chemically processed, avoid it.

Make a face mask with olive oil and a good quality of clay mud or avocado. Leave for 5-10 minutes, then rinse...

Extra Virgin Olive oil can be used as Lip balm, shampoo, bath oils, hand lotions, soap, soak for nails, massage oil, dandruff treatment, etc. Soaking fingernails in warm olive oil will soften cuticles and help brittle nails become more resilient.

Olive Oil Skin Care - Natural Oil Skin Care
Olive oil constitutes an important element in our products because of its unique composition. Olive oil absorbs UV radiation and is very efficient in lowering metabolism rate of the body cells. Olive oil is soothing and healing to all skin types, hence its wide use in soaps, cosmetics and massage oils. It helps relieve itch, stings and bites, healing of burns, dandruff and is an excellent hair tonic, especially for dry hair.

Olive oil is high in antioxidants, including vitamin E. These nutritional powerhouses protect against age-accelerating free radicals. The oil of this miraculous fruit will guard your body and your skin... from the inside out. So the next time you enjoy a healthy salad, drizzle on some olive oil. Later, rub it on your skin! You'll double the antioxidant, anti-aging protection.

When shopping around for olive oil, always choose " extra virgin " because it hasn't been refined and conserves all its nutritional values. Don't think that it will make you fatter than other oils, is just the same, but don't use to much if you are watching your weight.

Olive oil and skin care uses

1- Use olive oil as bath oil. Two to three tablespoons will do the trick.
2- It is also used as a moisturizer to maintain the skin elastic, hydrated and smooth. Try this mask at home: mix olive oil with an egg yolk and some honey. Put this mixture over your face and leave it on for fifteen minutes. Rinse with warm water.
3- Other potential benefits of olive oil as an olive oil skin care product include: treatment of - minor skin wounds, eczema, and psoriasis.
4- The vitamin E in olive oil makes it a great overall skin care product.
5- As a tonic for the hair, to add shine and to keep it moisturized. This is a fantastic hair mask: mix olive oil with two eggs. Apply it over the hair and leave it on for thirty minutes. Wash as normal.
6- Good for the hands. Add some sugar to two spoons of olive oil. Rub your hands with this mixture. Rinse with warm water.
7- A mixture of 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup vinegar, & 1/4 cup water used as a night cream will make your skin glow. The olive oil softens and moisturizes and the vinegar lightens discolorations, kills bacteria and loosens dead skin cells.
8- If your mascara is dry add one or two drops of olive oil. Whether you purchase olive oil skin care products or mix up your own olive oil skin care recipes, your skin will benefit.

Always look for extra virgin olive oil or organic extra virgin olive oil in olive oil skin care products or when formulating your own olive oil skincare recipes. Pure or light olive oil is likely chemically processed and would be lacking the beneficial skin care elements.

Using olive oil skin care can be a daily routine. Most of us know or have heard of a wise aunt that applies this incredible oil on her face nightly to look years younger, but did you know that olive oil can also be used as a make-up remover? Besides olive oil for skin care, it's healthy fats also benefit hair, nails and lips. It contains a high percentage of monounsaturated fat, which is healthier than polyunsaturated fats found in other oils.

So the next time you're looking for something to help your skin, consider some olive oil for skin, preferable in soap form, you'll be following the advice of many generations past, and future.

    Regards Suni ... :)

    Hi Suni,
    Thanks for these beauty tips...
But it won't suit for everybody.
We need to test first, which masks suits us and then apply it.
For eg.. Banana-- won't suit for fair skins, you will get tanned. It gives a very good glow for darker skin.

    Regards.
