Hi all Software Engineers, We have a MACintosh laptop (MACBOOK) which dont have an inbuilt DVD writer. We would like to buy an external DVD writer for the same. We called the apple store. But unfortunately they dont have it in stock. One more company called LACIE (lacie.com) is manufacturing the writer. But it is only 8x speed. Now my question is - most of the DVDs will have the writing speed of 16x. Is it ok , if we buy a 8x speed writer ? What about the speed of writing ?
I dont know about the speed but products from Lacie company are not at all reliable. We had bought a few items from Amazon and it didnt last for more than 2 months, Dont waste your money on that. Wait for a few more days and contact the apple store or just buy it online from apple.com
