What name do you use when you order something at Starbucks or other coffee place? Real name? A shortform of it? Or, something totally different? Or, when giving a name at a restaurant to join the table waitlist, what name do you give? I usually give an American sounding Indian name. Anita, Samantha, or Brenda : )
@Rihana , you can easily use your IL name, instead of Anita, Brenda, , they will be wanting to know more about rihana. I use real name, never occurred to me to change, may be because, mine is not that tough name to pronounce.

@MalStrom- You have nailed it @Rihana- This is the most funniest topic with my DH and me. I can shorten my name enough to sound one syllable so I go with my name. However, even with all dicing and slicing my DH's name can never be one syllable so he goes with Max He uses his alternate name for Starbucks,Restaurants, craigslist.
