    You are my Refuge

    You are my Delight

You are something I have searched

    For all my Life

    Going here

    Going there

    Pretending to enjoy

    The darkness Everywhere

    Now you have come

    Just as you Had

    To Sojourners of

    Eternities Past

    You are not a Mirage

    You are not a Trick

    You are not Something that

    Will make one Sick

You are what I searched for

    All of my Life

    You are the Rock

    You are the Light

    That banishes all

    Of our Strife

Thanks for the short& sweet poem. It is nice of you to embellish it with photo of
A beautiful rock Fort in a vast open space with azure sky above.

Could you help me with that Who is the “YOU” you have addressed in the poem. You is rock then you can be light you can be brilliance or heavy! My guess is haphazard!

Picture is good but how it could match with that YOU in your short sweet poem above? Portuguese citadels known for their great architectural marvel left their imprints in India Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahi & Eenam. A must-visit, to see the beautiful church as well as to come to know about St. Francis Xaviers, whose nails and hair - it is claimed - continue to grow even after his death. The church is beautiful from the inside. The museum opposite it is also very nice.

Enduring flame is it different from eternal flame that we have in New Delhi India to commemorate our Amar jawans. Flame reminds me Olympic torch that is being carried from the last venue to the present one in Japan.

Thyagarajan Sir, I don't know what Sui has to say about your queries, but I think poetry or the emotion of a poet is not bounded by mundane rationale or scientific logic. The words emanating from the emotional mind of a poet float like gas balloons. It's very difficult to control their path. Sometimes, poetry flows like a fountain. I would suggest not to obstruct its natural flow with artificial words just for the sake of rhyming.

    :hello:@Tamrakshar
I agree with your viewpoint. Blocking the flow of poetic lines with artificial words with logical thinking would mar the beauty of the succeeding lines of flow.
But here, I just want elucidation to know who is that “you” in the poem. May be am ignorant or & confused.
    Thanks & Regards.

You are not ignorant Sir! But, sometimes, it's not easy for the poet to explain everything. Readers are free to assume anything. For example, when I wrote the poem, "Bus stop romance", I had no one particular in my mind. It was just a poem. However, when I wrote the song "You are so intoxicating" I had someone in my mind.

In this case, my guess is this "you" can be a beautiful book or maybe a gadget which she lost, but now she has found that.

    Really lively discussion @Thyagarajan and @Tamrakshar !!!

When inspiration hits, the words flow.

When I meant "You", I meant something much bigger than us. Or perhaps something that completes us.

Or it could be a long-lost gadget as Tamrakshar suggested

“You” can be anything or anyone sir, according to the reader! Can be a particular person to some, or any material things which someone hold an emotional value... Tamrakshar’s guess gadget is a good one !
