    Hi Praveena,

My idea: Better you choose simple design (design book available in all craft work shop). Take trace of that design in a trace papaer. With the help of needle you hole the entire design and take trace in your saree.

Buy chumkies, jari thread or silk thread (your wish depends upon your saree colour) use chain stitches for lines and chumkies and beads for flowers.

You can find the model in "Some of my collections" posted by me. There i have posted one saree.

If you see you can have some idea.

    hi praveena,

u can select a plain sari - chiffon, gorjette or garden n trace the design using carbn paper.

with embroidery stitches ,try the base fig,n accessories like beads , seqence, cutdana , stones n zardosi wil help u 2 do flowers.

u can use metallic or shaded thread 4 embroidery.

    regards raji.

    Dear Praveena

There is a person called Anuradha who lives near Adambakkam who prints designs in sarees at a nominal cost. If you are interested, I will post her details here.

Embroidery : Suggestions for work on Saree

    Hi IL art lovers,
I have a plain crape cloth around 6 .5 meters, Onion color exactly (Cost of 1 m=225/-)
As I am not much into this stuff, Im a bit confused whether to keep it as it is and wear a plain saree with a designed blouse, or with full work,
Another option is to go and make it as a salwar, and again do some stuff on it
I am not sure whther to go for embroidery or any jardosi or painting on it.

Please suggest me if you have done anything earlier on crape and whch looks decent look too.
