    Egg Paniyaram

    Hi Friends,

This is a simple and well known recipe. What makes the difference is the vessel used for preparation.

    Ingredients:
    Egg - 3 no.s
    Onion - 1 finely chopped
Green Chilli - 2 finely chopped
    Pepper & Jeera powder - 1 tsp
salt - acc to ur taste
    Haldi - 1/2 tsp
    Oil - 2 tbsp

Whisk the egg and mix all the ingredients to the egg. Heat the cutlet pan/kulupaniyara kadai, add a spoon of oil in all the dips of the hot pan, pour the egg mixture into each dip and close it with a lid. Cook the otherside of the egg in each dip by adding one more spoon of oil. Your egg paniyaram is ready to serve with tomato ketchup.

This is an instant dish which you can make in no time when you have guest at home without prior notice but the thing is you should have the proper vessel.

Enjoy the weekend trying out a new dish :2thumbsup:

    Regards,
    Alamu

    Hi Karthiga,

No need of adding any flour. You have to wait until its cooked then shape will come. If you are particular with the shape add lot of onions don't use flour it wont taste that good.

    Regards,
    Alamu

Egg garland and marble cake-Kerala Muslim recipe

    Hai folks,
I am a vegetarian, use eggs only for cakes. I saw this recipe in Amrita TV, in a programme called Taste of Kerala. A Muslim lady prepared this dish and it looked so nice that I noted the ingredients and am posting this.
    Eggs -10
    Sugar - 250 gm + 250 gm
    milk - a little

Separate the egg yolks and whites, there should not be white in the yellow at all. Pour it in a seive and with a ladle mash it-it will become a smooth liquid as it flows thro the sieve. Take it in a plastic bottle with a nozzle.
Now take 250 gm sugar and add water and boil it well. Remove the impurities by adding a little of egg white to the syrup. When the syrup is sticky, drizzle the egg yolk in a circle into it. It looked like the savoury oomapodi when done. Remove to a plate when cooked. This is called Mutta Maala (egg garland)
Now take the egg white in a vessel, add sugar ad milk and mix well. Pour this in a greased vessel and steam it well. It looked like a white cake. This is called Pinjanappam (marble cake).
    They are eaten together.
