Laks...its unfortunate that u were cyber bullied. If I am not mistaken most mods would be able to see the previous version of posts..the system tracks it even when user doesnt so it should be easy to ban a user if u raise a flag.(sort of like a doc on gdrive where u can see ur prev versions and u can restore them to any version u like). But I agree its a lot of baby sitting by moderators.
JAG, I've been a mod. I know how difficult a mods job is. On top of the already existing stuff, this is one more thing the mods need to worry about. Just putting it out there. Not that any of the mods I know complain about doing their job. L

Not every post can be restored. (I am not elaborating further on this because I don't want to give ideas to members who remove their posts after getting replies). If a member has posted personal details, mods have always helped them remove it. 15 minutes is too short.
I am impressed by the time effort that some people devote to harassment. Such commitment! That must have been very annoying for you. The tragedy of the commons! (defining 'self-interest' broadly). I would like to believe that standing up to such people may be more effective than technical solutions, but then perhaps I wouldn't want to waste that energy either.
Jey, an hour is indeed better than fifteen minutes, although my poorly expressed thoughts continue to rattle around in my head long after. An hour works on those days when I have 60 continuous minutes of indulgent time, but more often than not, the hour I might spend here is fragmented into much shorter, ADD-segments throughout the day. Hence my partiality for the older 24 hour window. However, I do understand that your constraints are different from mine. It was very thoughtful of you to be so open and responsive!

Thanks Jey for cooperating in reducing the effects of the constriction. It makes a huge difference to me to multi-task and able to chat, watch telly, talk on phone and still write something graspable that can be remediated in an hour Appreciate it. The revision camp talks are still open for the next year, right
