He called himself Sindbad, though that was not his real name. He had been there for several years with "Newman Circus", playing the clown. He was the shortest among all clowns there and just was 2.5 feet tall. Nobody knew how and when he joined the circus. There was a gossip that he met Newman, the owner himself, several years ago and was a pet to him. Later it was run by Newman's son, Paul. Sindbad always seemed to have a smile in his face and did all things with such an ease that you often wonder, how, he could do that. Particularly the balancing act while walking on a high wire and juggling so many balls at a speed. Children loved to watch him perform and he was definitely an asset to the circus then. But soon, he got older, lost some of his reflex and speed and limited himself to a few activities. Udayan was the trapeze artist who joined the circus newly. Udayan was tall, above six feet and was in a good physical shape. For some reasons that he kept to his own, he never liked Sindbad and always mocked him. Sindbad would totally ignore those and just moved on. Udhayan soon became the centre of attraction, as he did some precarious balancing act with comfort. One day, while Udayan was practising on the bar, Sindbad took the other and was swinging from one end to the other. "Who wants to see an aged dwarf monkey doing this?" Udayan asked loudly. Sindbad smiled, went close to him and left the bar, hoping Udayan would catch him. Udayan did not. Sindbad fell on the net, but smiled and went. They both thought that there was nobody else at that moment. The next day, there was a show and after that, the circus staff lined up for their weekly wages. Udayan found that he received more money. He felt happy considering that as an increment till he heard the owner's voice - "And thats the one month severance pay as per the agreement Udayan. You are fired!". He was too stunned, when Sindbad intervened. "Paul! I understand now that you saw what happened yesterday! Please forgive him once. He won't do such things again!". Paul did not say a word and left. Udayan later apologized to Sindbad and Paul. What Paul did not reveal, was that Sindbad was his own uncle!
Yet another lovely stroy from your desk rgs. Yes, it reminds me of Kamal in Apurvasagotharargal. Akila
Hai RGS, Yesterday i have posted comments about this blog. I do not know how it got missed. We should not tease and make too much of fun about others which will really ruin our Life. A very good theme entry made by you and one more fur on your cap. Good people are always GOOD and donot want to put others into problem rather they would like to help the person who wounded them a lot.:thumbsup
