Durga Saptashati : Advise Please

    Hello friends,
    A amateur astrologer analyzed our horosscopes and said we should listen to the first chapter of Durga Saptashati or recite it every day.
    I did some research and it looks like it is not easy to read durga saptashati. There is a strict way to do it and if you don't do it that way, you can actually harm yourself instead of doing any good..
    I know you ILites have a lot more experience of religion and slokas than what I have..
    Can you plz advice? What is ur exprience if any with Durga Saptashati? IS it true that we should only recite it at a certain time, in a certain way and have a GURU to teach us how to do it before we start??

    Hi,
    See , there are daily chanting shlokas from Durga sapthasathi which does not require any rigorous methods,which you can chant when you do the usual lighting of lamp.
    Please give me a day`s time to give it to you okay.

    As i had told you that i will give you the daily chanting shlokas from the 1st chapter of Durga sapthashati; here it is

    Chant the Dhyana shloka first-starting with OM KHADGAM...

    Then shlokas 72 to 87.

    That is all.

    Dear friends,

    I too facing the same thing, an astrologer said me to receite 5th chapter of Durga saptashati or kavacham. I searched in net, but i don't know from which site i'll get this information:idontgetit:. So, dear friends, kindly help :drowningme to get the same.

    And also, the astrologer said, it is better to find a guru for learn them properly, before i start them:bonk.Please help me in this also:confused2: since i was confused.

    You can chant the shlokas numbering from 8 to 82 from the 5th chapter starting with "Namo devyai mahaadevyai".
    Need not undergo anything else for this.
    There are shlokas from different chapters in duga sapthashathi which are meant for daily chanting.
    It is better to buy a book from the shop."Devi Mahaathmyam".

    Let me search the net & see if there is any site for downloading and get back to you.

    Even I am also in need of this very much.

    In fact I have started a theread " Durga Sapta Sloki " very long
    back, but no one responded +vely.

    I could not find the same.

    In poojas slokas theread also I had requested for "Devi Mahatmiyam"
    in mp3 format as well as "tamil pdf format" . The same is also still
    unreplied by anybody.

    Now I hope some one can help with the audio as well as pdf (tamil)
    format which will solve my long time need.

    Even I am also searching in the net, and in case I get the same, I will
    reply to this thread.
