Hi all, I want help from H4 ladies in virginia regarding the driving license written test. I have already posted in general discussions abt this. Many tried to help me but my problem is not solved. can anyone who have a driving license tell me what they have submitted at the time of written exam. I have the following documents 1. valid passport and i-94 (proof of legal presence) 2. utility bill on my name (proof of residence) I don't have a document for proof of identity. our friends suggested me bank a/c,itin but they does not come under proof of identity. friends plz help me in this matter thanks. sabitha
Hi Sabitha, There is another thread on the same thing at H4 Ladies - Please check the website Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles -it has the acceptable list of documents and they will go by it only. If you take something different, they never accept - I had to go to the DMV many times before i could get any job done,as they always sent me back saying -this document is not acceptable,etc you can also call up and verify their 0800 number with the documents you have. Hi Sabitha, The main proof of identity for you right now is your passport. This has your picture and the signature on it. Usually they ask for a picture id with your signature. If you have a debit card with your picture & signature on it, you can also use that. As for proof of residence, it is better to take your lease agreement & utility bill details. Apart from these, you may need to take your husband's H1 and your H4 documents also.
