Dream of opening a beauty salon.

Would enjoy the chatting and camaraderie with workers and customers.

Dream of making women look and feel beautiful.

Really feel I would be great at this.

    Takes all sorts of skill

Always been a glrly girl. If there was no dress code, I'd come into work wearning multi-colored saris and toe-rings. Always loved to make-up dolls.

Probably would start with hair removal, i.e. threading and traditional sugaring.

Traditional sugaring is different from waxing in that the sugar is made from water, sugar, and lemon juice, and is heated and stirred to an even consistency. From there you apply it AGAINST the direction of the hair, then pull TOWARDS the direction of hair growth. This reduces the "ouch" and ingrown hairs.

I cannot believe how many people in the beauty industry to NOT know about traditional sugaring, or they say it doesn't work!!! Perhaps because they don't have the patience and practice to KNOW how it works!

Traditional sugaring is different from this "sugaring" waxing because in "sugaring", the wax is sugar-based. It's still has "ouch" factor and you get ingrown hairs, yet they charge more for "sugaring" simply because people will pay more.

I'd start with threading and traditional sugaring because I, like most women can identify with these beauty needs.

Also, I can understand how apprehensive a customer is to have someone work on them to bring out a masterpiece.

Even now, I am a bit apprehensive about getting some threading, waxing work done this weekend. Last time I went, there was some misunderstanding because the lady (owner of salon) was scared of her own in-laws!

Because I have been going to this place, and the lady does really great threading for fair price, I continue to go. Still really apprehensive, but I got to keep pushing, no looking back!

One thing, I will make sure ALL my customers are comfortable, even if it means taking a hit in the pocketbook. This is what a learned from reading an interview done with Barbara Corcoran, a lady who started with only $1,000 and created a Multi-Billion dollar company selling and renting high-end Real Estate. Her professional and personal story is quite inspiring.

Yes, opening my own Beauty Salon would be a dream come true!

There is never enough money, you simply don't know what will happen from one moment to the next. However, we must enjoy life with what we have, and pursue our passions.

Will definitely let you know when I open my salon. And I'll be sure to give all Indus Ladies a deep discount!
